Sun, Moon & Stars: A New Theme That’s Out of this World!

3… 2… 1, blast off! This December look for Lillio Learning’s all new STEM-focused outer space theme, Sun, Moon & Stars. This theme engages children in the process of inquiry as they learn about our planet, solar system, and space machines.

We are excited to foster children’s fascination with outer space by bringing them experiences and concepts that we haven’t done before. Here’s what to look forward to in each of our curricula:

Lillio Learning for Infant & Toddler Classrooms

In our Infant & Toddler curriculum, children will experiment with shadows and light, get hands on with a sky-inspired sensory bin and moon sand, and build special space constructions. The included book, Little Comet by Igloo Books, makes early STEM learning accessible with simple rhyming text.

The play manipulative in the November/December kit is a brand-new Learning Resources toy, Nesting Space Surprise, just released in 2024.

Lillio Learning for Preschool Classrooms

In our Preschool curriculum, children will think like astronomers and astronauts, experiment with gravity and the speed of light, tinker with loose parts and gears, and learn about our solar system.

The book included for this theme, Eight Days Gone by Linda McReynolds, received the following accolades:

  • National Science Teaching Association/Children’s Book Council Outstanding Science Trade Books
  • International Reading Association Children’s Book Award—Primary Nonfiction Category
  • Reading Is Fundamental STEAM Multicultural Booklist

Get ready for an imaginary trip to the sky and beyond!
