Observing children while they play and learn is important to understanding their development. To support you in assessing each child’s unique development, we offer a checklist for each theme to assess activities for the infant indicators listed on our continuum. Use the notes in blue to help guide your observations:
Plan for assessment by choosing activities to observe, taking notes on observations as a way to build evidence, and creating a portfolio for each child. Plan a time to meet with each child’s family. As you communicate with families, focus on each child’s individual abilities, strengths, and interests.
